The day before Blizzard Jonas blew into town, I posed my dogs on the steps of our deck, figuring I might have an opportunity for a Before and After comparison.
To create a good Before and After picture set, the photographer should be in the same position, with the same perspective. And the subjects should be arranged similarly.
Post-blizzard, digging a narrow path through nearly three feet of snow was about all we could manage, and don’t even ask about actually reaching — let alone clearing — the bottom step.
There was no room to sit pretty all lined up on the deck, and the only way I could get an After photo with the same perspective as the Before shot would have been to dig a Susan-sized ditch in a snow pile at the bottom of the stairs. The dogs and I discussed our options over treats.
I think the final result turned out just fine; don’t you?
Plus we got a bonus amusing outtake from the bunch. Can’t ask for more.
Do you ever take photos of your pets for perspective or interest?
